Idle No More calls on all people to join in a revolution which honors and fulfills Indigenous sovereignty which protects the land and water. Colonization continues through attacks to Indigenous rights and damage to the land and water. We must repair these violations, live the spirit and intent of the treaty relationship, work towards justice in action, and protect Mother Earth.
As you walk you walk for the many who support you but cannot be there. In solidarity Brigid and David Stevenson
ReplyDeleteAs a former employee of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples, I stand up for IDLE NO MORE! After 3-4 yrs of public hearings and research, a Final Report was issued 16 YEARS AGO!!! If the recommendations (of which there were 440) had been implemented, our people would not have to be protesting AGAIN for our rights! I was also involved in helping to organize THE CONSTITUTION EXPRESS in 1980, and the power of our people, the Prayers of our Elders, the voices of the youth and women helped ensure that we were included in the Canadian Constitution. OUR VOICES CANNOT BE SILENCED; OUR PRAYERS WILL BE HEARD; THEY MUST BE. THE CANADIAN GOVERNMENT SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF ITSELF!
ReplyDeleteI OFFER MY PRAYERS AND THANKS TO ALL WHO STAND IN SOLIDARITY FOR 'IDLE NO MORE'. Sincerely, Linda Jordan (Under The Sky Woman)
